Rewrite and adjust your messages with Copilot in Microsoft Teams

Use Copilot before sending a message

To use Copilot in a chat or channel posts:

1. Write your message in the compose box at the bottom of the chat or channel posts.

   • Tip: You can also rewrite and adjust a specific selection of your message, rather than the whole thing. The following steps also apply to selected text.

2. Select Rewrite with Copilot beneath the compose box. Then, choose between Rewrite ​​​​​​​ and Adjust .

   • The Rewrite tool generates another version of your message that improves its grammar and style. To navigate between versions, use the left and right arrows below the text.

   • The Adjust tool lets you choose from the menu options to change the length and style of your message. You can choose between these options:

     • Make it: concise / longer

     • Make it sound: casual / professional / confident / enthusiastic

3. If you'd like to go with your original message, select X.

4. When you're satisfied with the new message, select Replace.

5. When your message is ready, select Send .

Use Copilot after sending a message

To edit a sent message using Copilot in a chat or channel posts:

1. Hover over the message you want to rewrite and select Edit .

2. Select Rewrite with Copilot from the compose box's menu bar and use the same steps as when editing a new message.

3. Press Done to save your edits and send the message.

Use Copilot before sending a message

To use Copilot in a chat or channel posts:

1. Write your message in the compose box in a chat or channel. Tap Actions and apps next to Type a message.

   • Tip: You can also rewrite and adjust a specific selection of your message, rather than the whole thing. The following steps also apply to selected text.

2. Select Copilot . Then, choose between:

   • The Rewrite tool generates another version of your message that improves its grammar and style.

   • Or you can adjust the length and style of your message. You can choose between these options:

     • Make it: concise / longer

     • Make it sound: casual / professional / confident / enthusiastic

3. If you'd like to go with your original message and reject the suggestions, tap X.

4. You can tap Adjust if you want to generate another version or tap Replace.

5. When your message is ready, tap Send .

4. When your message is ready, tap Send .
